Adding a 4k RunCam to a V2 style rocket… So many things wrong here….

Vinny and I decided to meet at the park on this particular day. It was perfect Florida weather, and it was also a great time to bring out planes and rockets. It was also a perfect day to bring my son to the park to enjoy the funtivities.
We arrived at GT Bray park in Bradenton Florida and began to set up our funtivities.
We decided to use the 4k Run Cam to capture the take off from the V2 Rocket. This as many bad ideas was a last minute decision which we had not properly planned for, nor reviewed the dynamic of it. We just wanted to have some fun and get some exciting video for our you tube page.
First initial mistake was that the launch rod guide broke. We decided that we had a solid but questionable alternative to it….. to tuck the launch rod inbetween the gapped part of the strap holding the camera….. yes we thought this was a quick easy fix that would allow it to happen and help ensure the rockets trajectory…. Which for a lack of better explanation it did.
The next malfunction was the electric igniter for the Estes rocket motors…. the batteries were dead enough to not allow for ignition. At this point we should’ve called off the launch, but we REALLY wanted to see it go up. We did what any RC modeler would’ve done; we cut the cable and used our RC airplane power pack to set the rocket off. This was certainly a bit of overkill but it got the job done.
