Phase 1 of the launch system.

Although our previous post was very involved, the first step in this project is to develop the launch pad structure. The launch pad structure will be formed by an aluminum frame, that will house an on-going/under development system designed to meet the expectations listed in the previous post. Nothing in this project will happen overnight. So in development fashion we will share some on-goings.

The structure phase
This came in possession via a friend. I had reached out without response.
The structure is a piece of aluminum that will be used to house initially a few pieces of wood. Currently in my mind I would like this to be portable, foldable, and eventually wireless in all aspects with excellent data logging potential.

The aluminum structure will help with the initial structure that will hold the legs, and the base since it is made of aluminum it will be used to measure temperatures during launch. The legs will be designed to be foldable. This will allow for rapid deployment, and rapid packing up. The overall goal is to eliminate the no-fun part of deploying this system. The more fun it is, the better the data we will collect and use.
The initial structure phase will also have testing of basic non-complex structural stability with the initial testing platform which will test the basic elements of the engines used vs the gram weight of its efficiency in rocket performance.
Engines Power vs Initial test model – this will provide us the performance data per engine to be measure on the absolute base model of our testing platform. This phase will have 3 launches with no data-logging.
Once we test the basic power per gram requirements on the base model, we will have a better understanding at which point we will need to change the engine bay to host multiple engines. If this ends up being the case, the launch system voltage requirements just went up if we want to be able to ignite both engines simultaneously. Needed data will be collected in these 3 launches and that will help determine the next developmental step of the actual wireless launcher and how we end up implementing it while remembering to have the structure be sturdy, but foldable.

Stage two of phase 1
The stage after this one will be the exclusive development of a custom launch rod system. We are considering on patenting it as it currently does not exist. Due to this I will not be posting about it just yet.
