ESTES Spirit rocket review

Our team recently decided the need for a simple, easy to build fun rocket to fire off.

Our requirements also included:

-It must be a medium altitude rocket. (1000ft-3000ft)

-It must be easy to build. (take less than 20 minutes not counting drying time)

-It MUST be easy to spot. Rockets above 1,500ft can be tricky to locate regardless of the planning put into it. Some variables are hard to predict.

-It must be single stage.

-It must fly straight.

ESTES model rockets are amongst the most consistent in the market. We decided to get this plastic engine mount with a tube and take it out for a spin. This difficulty level 1 rocket was as easy to assemble as advertised. It probably took 20 minutes from beginning to end. We let it dry for about an hour as we had used Crazy glue instead of Testor’s glue.

Overall, it was a good building demo for a small child; which is perfect as i am using these ESTES rockets to demonstrate basic building of rocket systems. ESTES does not use the best systems, but it definitely is one of the best brands to teach young children about this hobby.
