Rocket Systems Development Series – Part 3 – TBS Crossfire

From a friend in the hobby all the way from Chattanooga, TN. Advice from Vinny’FPV was that Crossfire has been absolutely outstanding. He has specifically recommended some Team BlackSheep gear. The gear as reported by our colleague is that at 19 miles, RSSI didn’t drop below 96. With a review like that, I am truly saddened to not have already tried it. This will be a great improvement for the broadcast station as well.
TBS Crossfire 8CH Diversity Receiver

The item above is what we are considering for the current receiver for high altitude projects. We will be getting one after we finish learning about it to make sure we pick the right gear to compliment our project.
For the Remote Control Ground station we are considering a few options below.

For a more portable (non ground station system)

Along with the equipment pictured above, we are considering on boosting its signal to be more of a focused beam to better achieve the needed range. This means that our tracking system must be perfect, otherwise we risk disconnect from receiver.
